Our Responsible Approach
Sustainable development commitment
As a busy hotel, Estrimont takes its societal footprint seriously. Over the years, a multitude of actions have been implemented :
- Green Key Certification (3-key eco-rating), the leading sustainable certification in North America for hotels and event venues.
- Composting
- Planting apple trees in honor of employees with over 10 years of service
- Planting lavender and maintaining a no-mow May to support pollinators
- Green stations with paper and pencils in the rooms
- Elimination of plastic cups
- Dual-flush toilets to reduce our water consumption (installation in progress)
- 12 free charging stations for electric vehicles (free)
- Financial support provided to the non-profit organization Espace M (formerly Villa Pierrot) to help them in their mission supporting single mothers in Magog.
- New mattresses made in Estrie
- Selection of pillows made in Magog
- Vegan, cruelty-free, biodegradable personal care products made in Quebec in the suites
- Free menstrual products for employees
- Trilingual internal communications to include all employees
- Electronic brochures and sales tools
Results of our actions:
- By eliminating single-use bottles, we have reduced the consumption of approximately 112,000 plastic bottles per year.
- Since November 2023, we have donated a total of $9,875 to the Espace M non-profit organization (formerly Villa Pierrot) to support their mission with single mothers in Magog. (Updated: August 2025)
